Irish Tech News interview with Les Dunne, Chief Connector at IrelandTogether

What is your background briefly?

I was in the transport and courier sector for almost 20 years and back in 2015 decided that I needed a fresh challenge and as a self-confessed tech geek the technology sector seemed a natural path for me and I haven’t looked back since.

What major changes have you seen in the last 12 months in relation to Managed Print?

Sustainability and security are now key topics when companies are making decisions around their office printing solutions whereas beforehand they were important but now I see them as within the top four drivers alongside price and reliability.

What makes Evad IT Solutions different to traditional photocopier companies?

As well as being a HP Managed Print Partner of Ireland our background is as an IT Managed Service Provider and this allows us to provide an all-in-one bespoke technology solution to our customers. We can manage your Managed Print, IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, Wi-Fi and we also sell all brands of computers, PC’s, Laptops, Servers, Tablets and accessories too.

Why did you get involved with the Ireland Together project?

I’ve been a natural networker all my life and have been involved in professional business networking since the 90’s and in 2018 alongside my co-founder Colin Harris we started up The Dublin Network and we have a brilliant network of business people involved.

When we found ourselves in the middle of the Covid-19 outbreak Colin was thinking of how we could network whilst operating from home and thus Ireland Together was born and he asked me to get involved.

My role is as Chief Connector, which I think could be seen as a modern version of a “sales guy”, but essentially I find companies who may be in need of some advice or help and connect them to our panel of experts in those specific industries. It’s very rewarding to see the fruits of these connections grow and benefit Irish businesses in these challenging times and that is really what Ireland Together is all about in my opinion.

How can people find out more about you personally & your work?

At Evad we have a really great team of about 40 staff and growing and in the midst of Covid 19 we have moved into a fabulous new 8,180 sq ft headquarters in Robinhood Industrial Estate in Dublin 22 and all our four divisions (HP Managed Print Services, Evad IT Solutions, Cloudfire & All Things Office) will finally be under one roof so we would love to have visitors over to our new showrooms.
